This time I made a temporary appointment with my sisters for dinner, but the popular restaurant and tavern were almost full. After a circle, I found OIE Taipei. Next door is Pindu skewers. I originally expected to "cushion my stomach first, and then renew the stall." In addition, I have seen many comments mentioning that the appetizer here is generally better than the main course, so the ordering strategy is deliberately conservative.

OIE Taipei is the Lyon-style branch of Dela Restaurant and Tavern, a well-known restaurant in Hsinchu. It specializes in Burgundy cuisine. "Oie" means "goose" in French, and the pronunciation is similar to "wow". The restaurant space continues the style of a French restaurant and tavern. The lighting is soft and the atmosphere is good. The overall route is suitable for chatting and drinking.

Introduction and dining experience of OIE Taipei

bread

After taking a seat, each person will be charged 100 yuan for water, and unlimited renewal of Liberadre Nest House Japanese French bread will be provided.

This baguette performs quite well. The outer skin is baked very crispy, and there will be a clear "Kazi" sound when you bite it, while the inside is a honeycomb structure with irregular holes, with good chewiness. The more you chew, the more you can feel the wheat fragrance and natural sour rhyme.
The frequency of the clerk's bread replenishment is also very active. Whether it is paired with onion soup or hot sauce Greek yogurt in the follow-up, it is very suitable. It is a very practical existence on the table of the day.

Seasonal fish raw|French marinated salmon $450

The smoked salmon is cut thickly, the texture is smooth in the mouth, the grease is clean but not greasy, and there is no extra fishy smell. With orange, white radish and white bamboo shoots, the sour, sweet and crispy elements are intertwined with each other, making the overall level very three-dimensional. The crispness of the vegetables just brings out the softness of the salmon, and the vision and taste are quite beautiful. It is a cold dish with a high degree of completion.

Hot sauce Greek Yogurt roll $480

The maturity of the small rolls is well controlled, and the taste is soft but not rotten.
The slight spiciness and the sourness of Greek yogurt make the overall flavor quite balanced. The sauce successfully brings out the natural sweetness of the small roll itself, rather than overwhelming the guests. This sauce is also very suitable for dipping bread, and it is one that will continue to bread unconsciously.

Seasonal roasted seasonal vegetables $400

This is a surprise.
The protagonist is Kushigua, and the setting is almost a work of art. It is covered with asparagus, Iberian ham slices, glutinous rice pepper and tomato, and served with smoked red pepper cheese sauce next to it. The restaurant also carefully cuts the vegetables into the size of the entrance, so there is almost no need to cut them anymore.

The comb melon has plenty of moisture and is roasted just right. If you bite it, it will burst into juice. Red pepper cheese brings warmth and thickness, green sauce provides a fresh herbal aroma, and the salty aroma of ham is the finishing touch.
The only small drawback is that the glutinous rice pepper does not go to the base, which will slightly affect the taste when it is imported, but the overall is still a vegetable dish with rich layering and dazzling performance.

French classic onion soup $380

The flavor is very traditional, the onion is stewed and fried very tender, the sweetness is natural and smooth, and the soup is slightly thick but not sticky. The cheese and toast above form a crispy and brushed taste.
This dish is very suitable for eating with French baguettes, and the bread can be consumed almost directly here.

Sauvignon Blanc $360

As soon as the entrance is obvious, the aroma of guava is obvious, and after warming up, a sense of sweetness gradually emerges. The appetizers of the day are mostly seafood, and this wine can support the whole table well in terms of acidity and fruity flavor.

IMG 4151 scaled e1781509334207

Pinot Noir $400

Blank Canvas Marlborough Pinot Noir 2020
The fruity fragrance is clear, the acidity is moderate, and there are almost no aggressive tannins. The overall is warm and smooth, not bitter, astringent, but sweet. It is my favorite type.

Final Thoughts

Overall, OIE Taipei's appetizers are really good. Cold cuts, vegetables, hot appetizers and soups all have a good degree of completion. In addition, there is a choice of a single glass of wine. It is a friendly restaurant for people who want to drink, chat, and don't pursue portion sizes. Tavern.

The table distance is too small, and the conversation at the next table will be heard a lot, so the atmosphere is more suitable for friends to meet rather than private appointments.
From the perspective of positioning, I would classify OIE as a restaurant suitable for drinking and appetizer-oriented. The overall feeling of coming for the first time is good.

Choosy Chou

Hi, this is Chou Chou. Because I have always been "picky" about good things, I founded Choosy Chou to record and share the food, flavors and travel experiences that are truly worthy of being remembered. I am a food and flavor explorer, from street food to Michelin restaurants, from hidden bars to boutique cafes, I like to use my professional senses to taste, understand and compare, rather than just taking pictures and checking in. I have WSET Wine Level 2, WSET Sake Level 1, SSI Sake Navigator, and Coffee CSP Sensory Skill Foundation licenses. I hope to use a more systematic way to show you the flavor value behind a glass of wine and a dish. I have traveled to many countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Iceland, and the United Kingdom. I believe that the most authentic language in the world is hidden on the table and in the cup. Choosy is not picky, but an insistence on the quality of life. You are welcome to join me in savoring the world with higher standards.
