Looking back on the beauty of this year, the most memorable thing is that I drank the first truly amazing sake in my life in Japan, and since then I have embarked on the road of no return for sake. In order to learn more about sake, after returning to Taiwan, I decided to obtain a sake certificate. After drinking all the way, I not only had a sharper taste, but also met many like-minded friends. In particular, I would like to thank the sake master Xiaobao for sharing a lot of sake knowledge.

Taking advantage of the end of the year, I especially want to sort out the most impressive sake I have drunk in 2024, and record my personal favorites by Tier classification. Of course, I hope there will be more opportunities to taste and share more sake in the future.

The following rankings are purely personal preferences and do not represent any professional evaluation. They are for the reference of sake colleagues only!

2024 Sake Recommendation Obuse Sake Sake Ranking Japanese Sake Recommendation Sake Tasting Experience Taiwan Sake Sake Lovers Sake Hundred 14th Generation Sake New Deal Sake

Tier 1: Ultimate Recommendation

This grade of sake is the most amazing and unforgettable top-of-the-line work in 2024. Every bite is full of rich layers and a wonderful sense of balance.

14th Generation Dragon Moon: The taste is extremely delicate, the fruity and rice aromas are perfectly intertwined, and every bite is endlessly memorable.

Sake Hundred:The aroma is elegant and rich, showing the ultimate sense of harmony, and it is an excellent example of the art of drinking.

New Deal No. 6 S type: The fresh and bright taste has a fascinating sweet and sour balance, which fully demonstrates the charm of modern sake.

Obuse Numero UN: The delicate taste is matched with a very deep and complex aroma. Every bite is a wonderful sensory journey.

Tier 2: Highly recommended

Each sake of this level has a unique personality, has an excellent taste and is worth savoring carefully.

Sake Hundred Hundred Light: The taste is pure, the fruity fragrance is distinctive, and the finish is sweet, which is very suitable for meticulous and slow drinking.

Fushimi: It has a rich and full taste, with just the right balance between rice flavor and sweet and sour. It is a good wine that is approachable.

New Deal Pink Unicorn 2018: Sweet and rich in layers, the unique flavor is impressive, suitable for people who like personalized wines.

IWA5 ASSEMBLAGE 5: Carefully brewed by mixing a variety of elements, showing an amazing sense of balance and refinement.

Tier 3: Worth a try

This level of sake is also wonderful, suitable for friends who have already tasted a lot of sake and want to try a deeper change.

14th Generation Aishan: The taste is delicate and full of charm, which is worth savoring carefully.

Obuse OBUSE-IL Y A 100 ANS & Riz a sake Natural 1-6: It is difficult to distinguish the subtle differences between these two for the time being, and the flavor is pure. I look forward to comparing them carefully later.

Fukujin Junmai Fu.: The body of the wine is clean and neat, the aroma of pure rice is strong, simple but intriguing.

Eight years of maturation in the Eight Seas Mountain Snow Chamber: After long-term maturation, the taste is round and rich, and it has the special charm of mature wines.

👩 Personal experience and future prospects

From a sake to becoming a sake lover, this year's tasting process not only enriched my taste experience, but also allowed me to delve into the world of sake. I hope to taste these beautiful sake with my friends in more different scenes in the future.

I especially look forward to tasting these favorite wines again in the store opened by Xiaobao in the future, and continue to explore and share more wonderful sake to add a good taste to life.

Welcome to leave a message to share your annual wine list, let us exchange drinking experiences together, and expand a more exciting road to sake!

Choosy Chou

Hi, this is Chou Chou. Because I have always been "picky" about good things, I founded Choosy Chou to record and share the food, flavors and travel experiences that are truly worthy of being remembered. I am a food and flavor explorer, from street food to Michelin restaurants, from hidden bars to boutique cafes, I like to use my professional senses to taste, understand and compare, rather than just taking pictures and checking in. I have WSET Wine Level 2, WSET Sake Level 1, SSI Sake Navigator, and Coffee CSP Sensory Skill Foundation licenses. I hope to use a more systematic way to show you the flavor value behind a glass of wine and a dish. I have traveled to many countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Iceland, and the United Kingdom. I believe that the most authentic language in the world is hidden on the table and in the cup. Choosy is not picky, but an insistence on the quality of life. You are welcome to join me in savoring the world with higher standards.
