This time I booked two tables at the Sheraton The Dragon for my aunt's 60th birthday. Sheraton The Gragon is a time-honored representative of Cantonese cuisine recommended by Michelin in Taipei. Its style takes a refined, steady and error-free route. This type of Chinese table food, especially roast duck, really requires a lot of people to have fun. However, can this "steady" performance meet the techniques and surprises that "Michelin recommended" should have?
The following are the dishes ordered this time, recorded in the order in which I originally ate.

Sheraton The Dragon Menu Introduction and Dining Experience

chopPreserved egg with pepper

Salted fish, chicken, tofu pot

Spicy seafood tendon pot
This pot-based dish is impressive. The seafood ingredients are fresh, the amount is solid, the tendons are soft and delicious, and the spiciness is just right. It is an extremely appetizing masterpiece.

Shrimp crispy rice noodles

Dice beef

Fermented bean curd shrimp roll

Cantonese sliced duck
As a signboard of the town store, this performance was lower than expected. Although the ceremony of the live duck is full of ceremony, the meat quality of the duck is obviously skewed, and it lacks the juicy and oily aroma of Cantonese roast duck.

Golden carrot cake
One of the lighting points of the port. The skin is delicate, similar to melaleuca meringue but not greasy, melts in the mouth, and the aroma of radish is sweet.

Braised scallops and cabbage

Dry fried beef Pho

Samsung Scallion Mullet Roe Fried Rice

Claypot rice with wax flavor

Bric-a-brac roast meat
This dish is one of the biggest surprises of this meal. The skin of the roast meat is extremely crispy, and the meat is moderately fat and non-greasy. With special sauces, it can perfectly neutralize the feeling of grease and balance the flavor very well.

Crispy char Siu
Inspired by the concept of sugar gourd, it uses precious "golden six taels" pork neck meat, and the surface is roasted to create a slightly crispy icing. The sweet, crisp, and tender taste changes are impressive.

Yangzhi Manna
The ingredients are solid and the taste is good, but considering the amount of food, the price is slightly not close to the people.
Personal feelings
The advantage of The Dragon is that it is stable, decent and conservative. It is completely a restaurant that will feel at ease for banquets for elders or important family dinners. However, compared with its "Michelin recommended" aura, the cuisine lacks further technical surprises or flavor levels.
In addition, Chenyuan's food volume design (serving 3, 6, and 9 people) is embarrassing for us to sit at a table with 10 people, which leads to a slight inconvenience in ordering and dividing food. This is also where the restaurant's Chinese cuisine can be optimized in the planning of table dishes..
Overall, Chenyuan is a not bad but predictable Chinese restaurant. It belongs to the type of occasion when the elders are happy and want to come back again.
